What’s Hot

  • Seven of the top funds are Japanese, four definitely with a Value-style.
  • One of those is an index tracker.  Nothing wrong with trackers if they have momentum.
  • The Artemis emerging market fund is quite small, and also has a Value style.

What’s Not

  • In sharp contrast to the latter, Growth-style funds have been battered again.
  • As is often the case, Baillie Gifford are in the vanguard…
  • …followed by funds from other houses with a Growth bias.
  • Europe takes for places, as the continental gloom deepens.
  • Lancaster Absolute Return fund is interesting, genuinely multi-asset, and has not previously appeared on our radar.
  • The L&G Multi Asset fund isn’t multi-asset, being 85% bonds.
