In recent weeks there has been much talk of recovery in the US and UK economies. Headline writers and cheerleaders tend to also read into this that it is positive for the stock markets. There is no evidence for that, strange as it might seem. The very best one can expect is that the stock market anticipates an economic recovery. Hasn’t it done that already?
