What’s Hot

·         Three UK funds feature.

·         One from Lindsell Train, which is a decent size (£800m+) but is highly concentrated (21 stocks).

·         The other two are very small.

·         All have benefited from a recovery in UK mid caps.

·         Five are in energy and infrastructure.

·         Energy keeps edging up, and the continuing uncertainty in the Near East obviously helps.

·         Infrastructure is recovering from a sharp correction across the Summer.

·         Be careful with global funds, particularly as most have a heavy US exposure.

What’s Not

·         Korea has hit 7 of the 10 dud funds.

·         These funds remain at the mercy of just two giant companies which dominate the Korean stock market.

·         And these companies are at the mercy of the AI tech cycle, which is continuing cause for concern.

·         Polar Capital were hit by this negative trend across a number of funds.
