What’s Hot

·         That all three UK stock market sectors feature is the strongest hint in some years that the UK stock market might just have turned a very significant corner…

·         …though we must all stay wary of Trump-triggered volatility to the downside.

·         Financials were helped by excellent profit news from banks.

·         Latin America has turned up in the wake of Brazil stabilising, perhaps their correction being over.

What’s Not

·         Tech was battered as doubts rose about progress on the profitability of AI.

·         This also dragged down Asia, where Korea and Taiwan were the largest culprits.

·         The latter plus drifting by China did not help emerging markets.

·         US Smallers and corporate bonds coming off hints at doubts over US economic progress and creditworthiness.
